Giclee' is a French word meaning "Spray of Ink". It refers to the process used in printing on canvas and requires special printers and archival inks. It is the closest to the original colors currently available and is archival and UV protected.
The original photograph is printed on the canvas and then two coats of finishing acrylic is hand applied to the surface. A wooden stretcher frame is hand built and the canvas is then stretched over the frame and fastened in the back. This creates a beautifully finished piece of art work with part of the photo visible around all four sides and does not need a frame. They can, however be framed if you choose and is very striking as no glass is needed.
Only two nails are needed to hang your canvas as it is very light. Caring for your Giclee' photograph on canvas is as easy as wiping it with a damp cloth.
