Rosie Blowers
"Capturing a moment in time is what photography is all about. Seeing the world in all it's intricacies through the photographer's eyes and expressing that view to her audience is what makes art."
"I love gardening and have two acres in Michigan where I grow a lot of my own flowers and trees and love to photograph them. Seeing them close up through the camera lens gives me a different view than the normal eye can see. It also forces me to slow down and really look at things around me. I see beauty all around me and love to share it."
Rosie Blowers started out as a musician also in her teens. She concentrated on music as her art, wrote songs, played guitar and sang professionally for over 20 years. Concentrating on a business degree from Western Michigan University, Rosie soon realized that she was interested in art and music as well as business as a career.
Having always enjoyed working with her hands and creating things, it was a natural for her to join John in both music and art when they met in the early 70s. John was an avid photographer and Rosie loved being on both sides of the camera, modeling for John and also learning camera and darkroom techniques.
Together, they have had both wholesale and retail leather and gift shops, and an Inn and Gallery in downtown Saugatuck. There, they were able to work with many mediums and show them in their gallery. Rosie began including other mediums as well and soon was creating items in metal, porcelain, and glass. Her love of color and light soon made it clear that working with stained glass was one of her passions. Using her stained glass in her photography now also lends it an unusual artistic flair. She and John love to spend time taking pictures together and sharing ideas. Call her today for any ideas or questions you may have: 352-895-9065.

John Blowers
"Art Speaks to us from beyond the limits of language. It wants to succeed and endure. For the viewer, it can be a window or better yet...a door." John Blowers
"When I am creating something for the very first time, I am seeing something new that I have uncovered through the process of painting it. I have my own "window" to see it and reflect on what has taken place, as if the painting somehow created itself. This is a time for the Ego to be absent so that higher consciousness is made available to lead in all the creative processes.
I start painting without much thought or planning, but instead, rely on the unseen forces that range from subtle nuances or faint whisperings to almost explosive compelling energies which float or soar in front of me as I continue painting. The whole time, I am looking for truth to reveal itself. So, the "window" provides the view and the "door" is there to be opened for the passage over the new ground of personal transformation. That is the "enduring "part; that I or subsequent viewers can revisit the piece again and again and be in that very persoanl space with it. It is then that we can cross over the threshhold and experience truth and transformation whose limits are defined only by our imagination."
John Blowers has been involved in the arts for more than 45 years. He was given his first set of oil paints at the age of 12 and had his first one-man show at 15. While studying art at Western Michigan University, John divided his time between art and music. The parallels of the two can be recognized in many of his abstract paintings.
"There is a parallel between art and music in color, mood, rhythm, style, tone, and intensity. They are interactive components in both cases."
John's contemporary abstracts are inspired from a love of traditional painting styles mixed with his own unique techniques of paint application and design.
Over the last 40 years, John has been involved with various mediums including painting, leather, metal, and photography. He has won numerous awards for his contemporary landscapes and his leatherwork. He blends this varied knowledge in his current work with rich textures and colors. His tenure as an artist has resulted in sales of paintings that can be found in corporate offices and private homes all over the U.S. and Europe.
"Art creates life. It is a lens that amplifies and articulates all that humanity experiences, all that we are or hope to be."
